The Global Food Venture Programme fosters the entrepreneurial growth of doctoral students working on challenges in the Agrifood sector. Young innovators gain essential business creation skills and knowledge through a bespoke 6-Month Curriculum of Training Bootcamps, Mentoring, Corporate Site Visits, Networking Events and Pitch Competitions. In this period, they are supported by top coaches and technology experts from EIT Food partners and have the unique chance to explore key innovation ecosystems in Europe.
There are two open calls for applications in 2021, GFVP Stage I and Stage II
You are allowed to apply to both within the same year. See below, specific information on Stage I.

GFVP Stage I – Idea Development
40 highly motivated PhD students from across Europe will get together for a life-changing, immersive entrepreneurial experience to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and develop business propositions in the food space.
• 10-day Summer School (online)
• Pitch Competition with Prizes (online, June 4)
• Private Online Course on Food systems
• 1-day Final Networking Event (online, October)
Summer school will run on full-days with many power breaks, plenty of peer to peer networking and interaction with our guest speakers, food experts, advanced entreprneurs and business coaches! Programme dates May 25 to June 4.
Due to COVID19 global pandemic, the GFVP Stage I – Idea Development will be delivered fully online.
