REPAK summer school is for talented Bachelor, Master, and PhD students from different backgrounds, interested in bulding new sustainable packagingn solutions for food. The applicants should be 21 years old or more.

We have an urgent need to deliver more sustainable food packaging solutions. Innovation is key, and new circular business models are needed. This three week training program will focus on ecodesign while teaching you about entrepreneurship.
The participants will be exposed to state of the art entrepreneurship training, and work as a team on a business solution towards better food packaging sustainability.
Once completed, participants will
Have been exposed to the state of the art concepts related to food packaging
Identify challenges and opportunities related to food packaging entrepreneurship and understand what it takes to start a business venture.
Assess the problem and Identify solutions towards more circular Food Systems
Develop skills and practical tools towards running a successful business venture.
Create a sound business model for sustainable food packaging.
Pitch in a professional context the business idea in front of industrial mentors
Successful participation will strengthen students’ ability to organize cross-functional teams and effectively communicate with industry, municipalities and across different disciplines.
The training will be delivered by a mix of academic partners, but most importantly world renown experts and industry leaders in Corporate social responsibility. The trainees will spend the last week in the bootcamp identifying the gaps and provide business focused solutions on how to advance the packaging sustainability agenda.
A monetary prize will be awarded to the first and second best pitch!
A Certificate of attendance with ranking will be issued at participants that complete the training, with 4 ECTS. At the end of the school, the trainees will be able to propose a packaging solution that is sustainable and includes business aspects.

The course will mix teamwork with self-study time to keep engaging students on the learning content. It will last three weeks online (asynchronous period) and one week in the online bootcamp.
Students will be able to join a team for the first period of the summer school. At the end of the first period (day 6 of the summer school), the teams will be formed around innovative ideas proposed by the students participating in the school, and they will compete toward the final pitch in front of an industrial jury.

The course will have 3 weeks of on line learning with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous (you can learn at your own pace) lectures and sessions with your team. TThis approach will give the participants time to update on the state of the art, and generate ideas to be developed in the final five days of the bootcamp with the team.
The course commences on line NOVEMBER 1 with the bootcamp Starting November 15, and FINAL PITCH EVENT NOVEMBER 19, 2021.
