Panoramica

EIT Food New Product Development Training “NPD Skills” is a unique series of international, hands-on courses designed by experts from universities, research centres, and the food industry. Each course explores a different aspect of new product development, giving participants a broad and practical understanding of how to bring food innovations to life.

Our “learn by doing” approach ensures that participants not only gain new knowledge but also develop real-world skills, tools, and insights they can apply immediately.

Technology Management for New Product Development (the course consists of three mandatory parts):
> 6th October (11:00 a.m. – 13:00 p.m. CEST) – An introduction to stage-gate-based development
> 7th October (9:00 – 11:15 a.m. CEST) – PEF Technology in Food Innovation
> 9th October (9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CEST) – Strategic Technology Management in NPD: from Insight to Implementation

Competences to be developed: Problem Solving and Technology Management
Level: Practice

By the end of the course learners will be able to:
• Apply the stage-gate model to manage a new product development process from concept to launch in a realistic scenario.
• Design a scalable MarTech stack aligned with customer and sustainability needs as well as market feedback loops.
• Analyze the use of PEF technology to improve workflows and meet sustainability goals.

Regenerative Models in Agrifood Systems (the course consists of two mandatory parts):
> 21st November (9:00 – 11:00 a.m. CEST) – Part I
> 24th November (9:00 – 11:00 a.m. CEST) – Part II

Competences to be developed: Problem Solving and Food Systems
Level: Practice

By the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Appraise current and future challenges in agrifood systems by analysing barriers, drivers, and stakeholder needs to foster resilience and create long-term impact.
• Analyse the connections between planetary needs, consumers demand, and sustainable agrifood practices.
• Analyse their own businesses with new perspective and create opportunities to integrate regenerative principles into their professional contexts.
• Apply prosperity and systems thinking to examine agrifood interconnections for sustainability and regeneration.

Struttura del programma

In the Autumn Edition, you can apply to one or both of the following courses:

Technology Management for New Product Development (three mandatory sessions):

  • An introduction to stage-gate-based development: 06.10.2025 (11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. CEST)
  • PEF Technology in Food Innovation: 07.10.2025 (9:00– 11:15 a.m. CEST)
  • Strategic Technology Management in NPD: From Insight to Implementation – 09.10.2025 (9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CEST)

Regenerative Models in Agrifood Systems (two mandatory sessions):

  • Part I 21.10.2025 (9:00 – 11:00 a.m. CEST)
  • Part II: 24.10.2025 (9:00 – 11:00 a.m. CEST)

Each course includes expert input, real case studies, and interactive exercises to boost your NPD skills and confidence.

Technology Management for New Product Development

This course is designed to help participants navigate food product development through a technology-first lens. The course includes three mandatory workshops, each delivered by a different NPD Skills Training partner, offering diverse perspectives that build essential competencies for modern NPD teams.

Regenerative Models in Agrifood Systems

This course delivered by Italian Future Food Institute, this course offers an engaging, hands-on learning experience focused on regenerative transformation in the food sector. Through two live online sessions, participants explore foundational theory, apply regenerative design principles, and engage in collaborative case-based activities.
